Credits

Everything on this site that we did not make ourselves, and where it came from. This is the one place it is listed, so the pages themselves can get on with being pages.

Nintendo

Splatoon, Splatoon 2, Splatoon 3 and Splatoon Raiders, every character, weapon, stage, icon, piece of artwork, name and line of in game text are the property of Nintendo. sunken.ink is a fan project, makes no money, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nintendo in any way.

Inkipedia

Inkipedia, the Splatoon wiki, is where most of the pictures on this site were mirrored from, and where the weapon lists for every game and their names in other languages were read. Its text is CC BY-SA; the images on it belong to Nintendo.

  • 503 weapon icons, one per weapon per game, each from the file page linked on Inkipedia.
  • 11 menu icons used on the wiki front page.
  • 135 character renders, listed below.

Game data

Splatoon 3 weapon stats, sub and special weapons, gear abilities, Salmonids, Sheldon's descriptions and the names of all of those in Spanish, French, Russian, German, Japanese, Korean and Chinese are extracted from the game's own files, version 11.3.0, via Leanny/splat3.

Battles and the Turf Report

Battle results, scoreboards, builds and the season statistics come from stat.ink's open data, used under CC BY 4.0. Weapon, stage and mode names in those pages are stat.ink's own. Current season: Drizzle Season 2026.

Splatfests

Splatfest results and artwork are mirrored from Splatoon3.ink, which reads SplatNet. We fetch at most once an hour, as they ask.

Replays

Replay lookups talk to SplatNet 3 through the site's own Nintendo account. Assets are proxied rather than hotlinked so Nintendo does not see a log line per visitor.

Golden Eggs

The Golden Egg drawn on the exchange, in the menu and in the little flight of eggs when a post gets inked is the game's own Salmon Run Golden Egg icon, supplied by the site owner. It belongs to Nintendo like everything else from the games on this page.

Type

Headings are set in Project Paintball by JapanYoshi, a traced recreation of the in game font, used under its non commercial terms. Body text is Rubik by the Rubik Project Authors, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
